Not everyone has someone. We oftentimes get so busy in life that we forget to look around at all the people that are left alone during the Holiday Season. It is sometimes difficult to see, I will admit, because so often we learn at an early age to place a mask on our face and pretend all is well.
So many of us spending the holidays alone smile, talk about other people's Thanksgiving or Christmas with their families and pretend we are fine.
We may mention we are alone, but pretend it doesn't hurt, and that it doesn't matter, but really it does. It hurts deep some years and our hearts yearn for our children or our families to be close, but they aren't. Some are lost in time and space, some have passed on and others just simply want to believe we are already dead. Regardless of what their situation is, whether they messed up or whether they are pretending all is well, it cuts deep just the same.
No one wants to describe that pain that is felt with loss or with being alone during the holidays, but one thing I know to be true is the love of Jesus and how He fills that loss inside of our hearts if we ask Him to and search after His love to fill us. He longs for us to open our hearts to Him and He WILL step close and help us feel His love inside of us.
One thing I have found to be true during the Holiday Season is that I am not the only one without family close by me. I stopped thinking I was alone when I went to work at the hospital several years ago and found lots of sick people alone just the same. Some had messed up or made mistakes and others had not. These people were not just alone, however, they were alone and sick; laying in a hospital bed.
I was not correct in my thinking anymore that it was just me and that I was a bad person like I had been told all those years. I began to realize that lots of people in this world need the love of God to fill their hearts just like I did and still do. Lots of people make mistakes. Maybe it's time to really forgive that person that hurt you and stop taking life out on them. Stop trying to make their life miserable or you might wake up one day and realize they found what the meaning of life really is and you still don't get it.
God is a God that steps into our lives to meet our needs and fill our hearts. Whether you are the one alone this holiday season, or possibly the one making someone else feel or be alone. Allow God to step into your heart and fill it today. You won't be sorry you did it.
Well Christmas came and went this year and I am almost one year older and one year wiser. Christmas had a special meaning this year to me. It seemed the atmosphere around us was changing and that God was really moving behind the scenes with favor towards His people.
Oftentimes, it is quite difficult to keep moving forward with our lives, our hopes and our dreams without being able to see a clear pathway to what God is doing, but I believe this is exactly what He is asking us to do; knowing He is working it out behind the scenes. Our faith determines our pathway oftentimes and we must keep believing that God's word is not only true, but just and righteous to keep us safe, keep us free and delivered and keep us moving ahead with the plans He has placed within us.
I don't know about you, but without God I am literally nothing. I have sinned, fallen down, messed up, gotten back up and resolved to keep moving forward on this road called life. Without the days ahead, we would never see our hopes and dreams come true. Don't allow the world around you or even your circumstances to keep you standing still or denying God's love for you, or worse yet, giving up and fallen back into the old way of thinking or doing things.
Step out today and ask God to help you believe. Step out today and believe Him at His word of truth. He will make HIs promises come to pass, it is up to you to be able to reach out in faith and receive those promises. So often, we get so bogged down with life, that we can't even see the miracles growing all around us. Don't give up and know that I am with you in your corner with encouragement. Keep moving and asking God for favor and deliverance of your people you are praying for and your promises will have to come to pass. God is just that good all the time and He has not forgotten us. His way and His being could never stop loving us, as we are His own creation of beauty. Believe He knows best and believe. The time to start is now.
